Can I dive with Asthma? You will need to ask your physician. What we worry about with Asthma is that an attack would occur underwater and upon returning to the surface you would acquire a lung over expansion injury.
Can I borrow my buddies mask, snorkel and fins?
We recommend you have your own equipment. This is personal equipment and
fits your face, etc. The more you use your own equipment the more used to
it you become and therefore become a better diver. What better place to
check out your new equipment than in the pool. Also, we stand behind everything
we sell. If it's not right we will get you something else that will.
We have a trip planned and want to do our Open Water certification dives on our vacation? Yes, you can do this. You have up to a year to complete your certification dives. We do not suggest waiting that long. If you have a trip planned you will take a referral form saying you have completed your class and pool work successfully and are ready to take your Open Water Dives. We can even help you with making the arrangements for your dives at your destination.
What will I need for equipment for my class?
During the Open Water Class you will need you personal equipment. This is
your mask, snorkel, fins, defog and equipment bag.
What is provided for the class? Our class includes all your student materials, rental of the BCD, regulator, tank and wetsuit for the pool sessions. It also includes all the pool fees and instructors fees.
Can I sign up for a class and decide on dates later? Of course, we want to get that book in your hands so you can start reading. We have classes every month and can keep you posted as to our upcoming class schedule.
Do you have Gift Certificates? Yes, we can even customize them to your special needs and mail them out as well.
Can I get prescription lenses for my mask? Yes, there are several options depending on your prescription needs.
How long does it take to get certified? The whole process can be completed in as little as a month with the entire classroom, pool work and certification dives. It can also take as long as one year, depending on your schedule.
Do I need to learn how to swim?
You don't need to be an Olympic swimmer but you do need to be comfortable
in the water. You must swim 200 yards and float for ten minutes as part
of the Open Water Scuba Class.
How long does a tank of air last? As you will learn in your Open Water Scuba Class, it will depend on how deep you dive and how fast you breath. Normally, we will stay underwater between 30 to 40 feet for about an hour.
When should I take a Scuba Tune up? If you have not been in the water 6 months to one year, you should take a Scuba Tune up before you go on a scuba tour.
